This was my first dive in the Mark V dress.
It was a pain to get into but it was a blast on the bottom.

A Draeger Copper Hat
Found in Kansas by Don C.

This old hat sits proudly in foyer of Australian Clearance Diving Team Four in Western Australia . It is believed to be taken off one of the old Royal Australian Navy Mine Hunters. The Tally plate on the front reads, A “No Bolt” Diving Helmet Circa 1890.

Hand made in France by diving pioneer Charles Petit. Serial stamped No.5. Amongst the rarest of it’s kind in the world today. A cherished possession of the Clearance Diving branch. AUSCDT 4 is proud to be the custodian of our “OLD HAT”.

From Bill Hammond
This is my new (DESCO) Browne Diving helmet or as my wife calls it the $4000. paper weight. I was a diver for Podesta Divers in San Francisco from 1974 to 1987. The good old days. Back when I was using a Yokahoma Helmet By Bob Kirby; loved that hat. Why did I buy a new hat ? Well, just to sit up on my desk and remind me of the good old days!

Bill also sent in a couple other pics from the Good Old Days
You can find them in the photo gallery on page 18.

The 2 air hats were made by bob Kirby in 1964 and 65. One of these hats is the one used in the movie "After The Storm". The gas hat is a Kirby Morgan that was made in 1966 after Kirby and Morgan merged.
