We were out doing some P& A work
when we were told to go pick up the helo deck of a platform
that was hit by a material
barge that was carrying a production deck from the Mc Dermott shipyard
in Amelia to a location over seas.
The barge ripped off the Helo deck
and bent the platform crane to a 90 degree angle.
In fact, the crane motor was ripped
off. Never did find it. It is probably on the barge.
The helo deck had to be cut in to two
sections for recovery.
Anybody for a swim call?

These were taken by a KTBS helicopter
flying over Cross Lake!
For those of you who are not
local, Cross Lake is in Shreveport.
That has to be a HUGE gator to have a
whole deer in its mouth!

Stainless
the new way and stainless the old way

Roat is busy with Lev Gorski these
days helping fine tune that Gorski hat for Gulf diving.
Watch for something in-depth about
this hat in The Roat Deal soon.
I have been in Lev's hats a couple of
times as well and I have to say they're getting close,
but of course...brass would be nice...

John also sent in this picture of
burning seas.
Look under the structure.
Where was this John?
